Haunted by ambassadorsnare Haunted by ambassadorsnare
Here was a place where none would ever come
For shelter, save as we did from the rain.
We saw no ghost, yet once outside again
Each wondered why the other should be so dumb;
And ruin, and to our vision it was plain
Where thrift, outshivering fear, had let remain
Some chairs that were like skeletons of home.

There were no trackless footsteps on the floor
Above us, and there were no sounds elsewhere.
But there was more than sound; and there was more
Than just an axe that once was in the air
Between us and the chimney, long before
Our time. So townsmen said who found her there.

This is a lovely composition. I like how the path leads right up to the home. Black and white really suits this image as well, it leaves a very eerie feeling. Well done! :claps:

What a neat old home! Look at that neat hedge-lined walkway, the trees! It's a shame to know that houses like these are abandoned & not taken care of. If I had the money, I'd buy a house like this & restore and re-vamp it. It would be an awesome place to live. Houses are meant to be lived in...when they are left abandoned, without people for so many years...they get that "lonely" creepy feeling. Sometimes that will make a place feel haunted and eerie.

Oh I know how you feel! I wish I had the money to buy all of the houses I've seen like this and fix them up. Its such a shame how they sometimes go to waste!

Yes, I find older homes have more charm to them & are more special than modern housing. Old homes also have a history to them. That is another reason why it makes me sad when such places are eventually knocked down (which I hope does not happen to this home).

I agree! :D I like older homes much more than I do modern ones. And yeah, that makes me sad, too.

creepy....where is it?

In this little quiet neighborhood. Its on the end of a street on the corner. To the right of it is a open lot with a broken fence, which I've photographed. It looks really out of place and old fashioned amid all the modern houses. X3
